Coming Edmonton events that Folkies will love:
will be gracing the stage at the Winspear April 1, 2011 in support of his new album Small Source of Comfort, an adventurous collection of songs of romance, protest and spiritual discovery. The album, primarily acoustic yet rhythmically savvy, is rich in Cockburn’s characteristic blend of folk, blues, jazz and rock. As usual, many of the new compositions come from his travels and spending time in places like San Francisco and Brooklyn to the Canadian Forces base in Kandahar, Afghanistan, jotting down his typically detailed observations about the human experience.
Please keep in mind that the Bruce Cockburn show is a part of the Winspear presents series which also includes: Acoustic Africa (March 29), Salif Keita (March 31), Harry Manx and David Lindley (April 9) and Johnny Clegg (April 23) – still available at the special Package Pricing: 3 shows for $105, including service charge!
