2014-2015 Live at the Winspear series

The Winspear Centre is excited to announce its first confirmed artists for the 2014-2015 Live at the Winspear series–sponsored by Sherbrooke Liquor Store. Ziggy Marley, Colm Wilkinson, and Rosanne Cash will each bring their diverse sound and engaging stage presence to Enmax Hall, in a line-up of talent that possess well-established careers and remarkable musical history.

On September 30th, 2014, Ziggy Marley will entertain with his distinctive blend of reggae, psychedelica, soul, and pop–a mix of influences that no doubt stem from his father, Bob Marley. The six-time Grammy award winner, Emmy winner, humanitarian, singer, songwriter, and producer has released twelve albums to much critical acclaim.

Colm Wilkinson, best known for his roles as the original Jean Valjean (Les Miserables) and the Phantom (The Phantom of the Opera) will take the stage on December 15th, 2014, in a performance that will showcase the depth, range, and variety of one of musical theatre’s greatest talents.

Finally, on February 1st, 2015, Rosanne Cash will bring the sounds of the American Southwest to Edmonton, as her latest album, The River and the Thread, particularly examines the emotional and historic landscape of that region. Cash’s music draws directly from country, gospel, blues, and rock influences–much like the iconic songwriting of her father, Johnny Cash.

Tickets go on sale on Friday, June 6th, 2014 at 10am and range in price from $44–$62, plus service charges. Tickets are available by calling the Winspear box office at 780-428-1414 or toll free at 1-800-563-5081, or through visiting our website: www.winspearcentre.com.
