EFMF E-News – Four Strong Winds
Four Strong Winds Sing Along
Every year at festival time, we wrap up an incredible 4 days of music and community by singing Ian Tyson’s Four Strong Winds together on the hill at Gallagher Park, filled with memories to carry us through to the next festival.
We can’t wait to sing with you again.
On Sunday August 8th we look forward to coming together in spirit and song to sing Four Strong Winds with Jim Cuddy.
“It was an honour to be asked to lead the final song for Folkfest. I watched Mary Chapin Carpenter’s version for guidance. I had to raise the key a notch! I have always loved the song. Such a conflicted narrator. Hard to imagine it was his first song. I can’t wait to see the finished product with everyone singing. It’s a beautiful thing to sing together in these strange times.” – Jim Cuddy

Passenger, aka Mike Rosenberg, is a multi-award winning, platinum-selling singer-songwriter from Brighton, England. Although still known for his busking, he made the journey from street corners to stadiums with ‘Let Her Go’, which reached number 1 in 19 countries and which has now notched more than two billion plays on YouTube. Yet ‘Let Her Go’ is just one song from a catalogue that extends across 12 albums in 13 years.
The consistency of his output, and his authenticity both on and off stage, has won Passenger a global fanbase and he continues to tour the world headlining some of its most famous stages.
