Tickets sell out to 34th Edmonton Folk Music Festival
June 1, 2013 – Edmonton, AB – All adult and youth tickets to the 2013 Edmonton Folk Music Festival have been sold. There are still some Senior tickets available.
Half the total tickets available were sold in person at Telus Field starting at 7:00 a.m. this morning through a lottery system. The remaining half was made available starting at 2:00 p.m. online through the Folk Festival website as well as through Ticketmaster online, phone and kiosks.
2,100 people made their way to Telus Field this morning to get their lottery ticket ‘letter’ hoping it was one of the 11 letters drawn. “Our experience with in-person sales at Telus Field this year was extremely positive and the process to issue tickets went as smoothly as we could have hoped,’ said Festival Producer, Terry Wickham. In 2011, 500 people came out to purchase tickets in-person and in 2012 that number was 1200. ‘Thanks to the patrons for their cooperation, our volunteers for a smooth operation as well as Tom and Macy and the Edmonton Oilers staff at Telus Field for the well-run event.’
Tickets made available this afternoon through the Festival’s online system, as well as through Ticketmaster, sold out at 2:12 p.m., with just a few Senior tickets still available. Seniors over 80, as well as children 11 and under are free and don’t require an advance ticket. “We’re extremely pleased with the response to, what we believe, is another outstanding festival line-up,” said Wickham.
